Our Initial COVID-19 Immunizations

We had to wait until the end of our quarantine before we could schedule COVID-19 vaccinations.  It's now been more than two weeks since we got back from Mexico and continue to test negative.  We signed up at the provincial government website first. Then to play it safe, we also booked at one of the pharmacies. 

 

Jay got an invitation to get his done at our downtown community center through BC's Get Vaccinated website. That would've been convenient as it is just a few blocks down the street.  However, as the system is age-based, I am still waiting to be invited.   It seemed better to go with our alternative appointments together today. Unfortunately, our uptown London Drugs is not presently offering the jabs.

 

We visited the Lougheed Mall and had immunizations at noon today. As we booked together, our appointments were scheduled back to back. The area is now where two SkyTrain lines meet up and is experiencing a lot of growth. It is completely different than when we arrived in the area 25 years ago this summer.  In fact, the mall is in the midst of rebranding itself as The City of Lougheed Shopping Center. It is only about 6.5 kilometers from here. We were there in a jiffy and it is always a great drive with views up the Fraser River and of the mountains.

So we've had our first vaccinations now.
