Day 073: We are staying in downtown Cape Town, an area known as the Bowl. Three mountains surround this part of the original city. Today we decided to go up an explore the top of Table Mountain. It was easy because we bought tickets to the hop-on, hop-off bus. The next stop is the bottom cable car visitor center.
Jay had his phone and I had mine. I noticed that I saved 36 images taken today. That number reminded me that used to be a whole roll of 35mm film back in the day. Even that number is deceiving as although 36 made it online, a number were deleted too. We are so lucky nowadays to be able to easily document life.
The red bus loop took us to other places in Cape Town today. We saw the luxury neighbourhoods and stopped to walk around a bit. However, I'll not bother with other images today. The trip gave us a better understanding of the directions and lay of the land.
Summers in Vancouver and winters in Cape Town? Probably not. Even though this is a place I expect we may see again, we've a whole lot of other areas for our future winter exploration. However, this is a stunning city with a sense of local identity. It'd be fun to be a permanent part of it. I'm glad we still have more than three weeks here!
