I was looking on Amazon to see what in the way of Google Home devices I might add to the apartment wifi. Predominately, I use voice commands for room lighting. I do control things like the white noise generator and our air purifier through wifi. The most useful is probably access to the computer printer as it is in the bedroom. Asking Google to turn it on without having to get out of the living room chair is, indeed, helpful. Of course, there are music, radio, and television commands too.
I'd been seeing about a replacement home security camera. My old cheap indoor one apparently doesn't work anymore. Then, by chance, I came across this:
It's a Moorebot Scout-E. It is an autonomous, mobile, AI-powered camera and microphone. I don't have a backyard. I have no pet or baby to monitor. My apartment is only 750 sq feet and does not require a security camera. Yet, I had a fun time checking out the original Scout videos and reviews. It seems for once, I hit interest in a topic just as a new version looks to be released. This E-version doesn't have the same four, cool multidirectional wheels as the current one. However, a military tank-type setup can turn on a dime.
So, one of these 11.5cm x 10cm x 8cm devices will be coming to our address as soon as they start shipping. I hope it'll arrive within a month. It's amazing how in this big world I can always find some wacky device that seems like it's being produced especially for me.
This morning, Canada Post delivered my little webcam on wheels. It's always exciting to unbox almost anything new. The Moorebot was well-packaged.
