We used the air conditioning last night. It's new and very quiet and efficient. However, during most of the night, I felt too cold. How silly, people are! At home in Canada, I run the gas fireplace to make the apartment as warm as it is here and then sweat. Folks are really hard to satisfy.
On a different topic, last night, we learned that we would have to apply for our visa extensions online this time. So, although we are now staying only a few kilometers from the government offices to which we used to visit, this time we won't need to go in person. At least, I hope we don't have to.
The hardest part of the process was playing with the files of our passport-sized photos, pictures of our passports, and images of our outward flights. The maximum upload size was just 50 kb on their website. I had larger files when doing web pages in the 1990s. I'm sure the details aren't clear on such tiny documents but I guess they're just ensuring that our records match existing data.
We both uploaded the JPGs, filled out the forms, and received email confirmations of our submissions. Somebody must want to check the details against what's already in their computers. I'm sure they won't forget to let us know when they're ready to take payments!
