Day 6 - Going South and Up

This was our last day in Cairo. Things had fallen into a nice routine and I was a little sad to think about saying goodbye. We had until evening though as our train to Aswan didn't leave until 7:00 pm. Upper Egypt is south of here but of course the Nile flows down to Cairo. For our last morning, we walked around before checking out of the hotel at noon.




We left the bags at the hostel and went to eat our last big meal in Kazaz. And we enjoyed the nice temperatures and now familiar area.


We took a taxi to the train station really early. It was fun watching all the people rush to the commuter trains after work. The train to Aswan prompted pulled away from the platform at seven sharp.


We will be sitting for a total of 13 hours, so this entry will be a little late hitting my blog. We are supposed to arrive in Aswan at 8:00 tomorrow morning.
