Day 50 - I'm sure I've talked about this topic in this blog. I've been at this project for over twenty years, so undoubtedly I have repeated a lot of things. When one has had a lot of experience, it seems likely some will be retold.
Today, I want to mention these unusual coconuts again. Jay plucked a couple that were ready on one of the smaller trees in the yard. As you can clearly see, aren't ordinary. In fact, they're endemic to this island but now grown in a few other places. They are called King Coconuts in English.
As well as the bright orange colour, these really have no husks. They've reportedly been cultivated for over 1000 years here; however, they grow wild. They're primarily prized for their liquid content. You could say they are primarily for drinking.
