Another One Bites the Dust

Day 52 - Before lunch, I sometimes have a bit of arrack or distilled coconut flower sap. I put a shot or two in a small glass and add ice and a dash of cream soda. Inside the bottle is Sri Lanka's national drink. Today a bottle ran out.

 

Earlier in the morning though, we had taken a trip to Arpico Super Center just so I could buy some things in their liquor store area. No one else drinks alcohol in the house nowadays. Before I used to share a lunch tipple with Jay's father. He passed away seven years ago. I carry on. 

I found that beer is bought most conveniently nowadays in a 6-pack of cans. The Lion Larger beer cans are a half liter each and easily carried in an attractive, sturdy box.  I bought several.

Drinking is more expensive in Sri Lanka than in the past.  But what isn't, no matter where one is?
