Hanging Out at the Mall

Day 06 - I'm making my Mi Band activity tracker very, very happy. I don't think I've ever seen my PAI score reach 120!  We have been doing a whole lot of walking since getting here and today was no exception. We walked 11.2 kilometers and much of that took place at the Dubai Mall. 

   

That is the development now referred to as "Downtown Dubai" and is the site of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.  This is not our first time visiting it. In November 2015 we had a stopover in Dubai when we were spending the winter in Luxor, Egypt. We did many tourist activities then. However, today was a great day to do many inside things as the temperature was forecast to reach 33°C in Dubai.

From our Bur Juman Metro station, the trip was just six stops. The Red Line is busy just about ... always!

 

We did all the usual mall things like watch the ice skaters, stare at sharks, and stand near massive waterfall walls.  We also had Chinese food in the mall at prices cheaper than could be had in Canada.  We went back out to watch the water fountain display for an Arabic song at 1:00 PM.  During our stay, we will surely go again to watch an evening program with all the coloured lights.

After our mall adventure, we returned to the apartment for our naps.
