As today was Saturday, many of the busses were full. We stood in line at 11:30 but could only book tickets on the 1:00 pm bus to Tulum. We could've ridden on a frequent Colectivo shuttle van, but instead took the extra hour of waiting time to sit in the park near the Municipal buildings. After a while, we sauntered back to the bus station and sat there too. A nice breeze blew through the waiting area.
Our bus left right on time. It was one of the most expensive ones as I think the prices increase during peak times. It was more than twice the price of getting to Tulum. Still, a single $US 4.80 ticket didn't break the bank. The highway to Playa del Carment took around an hour. We didn't see either a deer or cougar although the road signs warning of their presence.
From the Playa del Carmen central station, we slung our backpacks over our shoulders and headed home.
