We ate half of the breakfast goodies in the refrigerator that we'd purchased yesterday for our stay in Tulum. We went outside and hired a taxi for a several-kilometer ride to the main park entrance. Our lady taxi driver had a bit of trouble understanding our English.
It was a little hike to the main ruins. We weren't tricked by the initial 'official ticket' sellers near the parking area. It cost 80 pesos each to enter the archeological area at around 10:15 am. The grounds were well kept and quite a number of tourists were visiting.
We walked around for about one and a half hours in the bright sunshine. The breeze made for a very comfortable morning.
After, we walked out the opposite way of the entrance towards the beaches. Tulum tourists either choose to stay in town or in the beach zone. We walked along several stretches of the beach still inside the parklands. It was beginning to get hotter.
It was getting to be past noon, so we had lunch in a beach restaurant. A nice breeze off the water made a leisurely meal enjoyable. I had a shrimpburger and Corona. After that, we walked out to the road and hailed a taxi. The driver took us down the road to Tulum's hotel zone and then back into town. We gave him 200 pesos.
In the evening, we again walked in town, making my Mi Band register nearly ten kilometers for the day.
