

A large part of the building contains a food court space. Nearly half of the large structure was also filled with small vendors selling household goods. The far end, however, sold food. We walked through the sections for fruits and vegetables, fish, and beef. This type of structure often goes by the name of a wet market in Malaysia.



The locally grown vegetables offer such variety! For example, we are very familiar with the small, green variety of eggplant, called Thai eggplant in Canada. The very tiny pea-like berries are a similar type of plant. Solanum torvum has a whole host of local names.

Jay is able to find familiar vegetables and leaves which are not found in Canada. In fact, he will go out tomorrow morning just because a vendor at the smaller, closer market promised to bring some kathurumurunga leaves.
