When heading to the northern beaches, one goes through this area. It's a bit close to the old Thai/Burmese neighbourhoods, so there are several, notable Buddhist temples on surrounding streets. We spent a bit of time walking around today. We couldn't help but notice all the new and old residential towers in the area. I'd much rather stay south of Tanjung Tokong. As Highway 6 heads further, it gets all twisty along the edge of the mountains. The big developments out there would afford some beautiful views, but they are isolated from shopping and other activities.

Property is still a relative deal here and the sector is quite mature in Penang. Buying a winter condo is something for consideration. I feel very comfortable here and wouldn't mind using this island as a winter base. However, the world is really big and it's hard for us to commit to a single location at this point in time.
When returning home, we went through Little India yet again. It always seems as though it's lunchtime when we pass through that section of George Town. We had biryani rice with huge pieces of chicken. That plus glasses of iced coffee came to about $3.75 each.
