Looking back through the logs, I realized we remained firmly parked at home during two of the past nine September runs. Naturally, those static years lined up neatly with global pandemic lockdowns. The trail runs back through the seasons following our early retirement in 2014. It turns out Jay's heart surgery was the real catalyst for the whole tradition. We marked that particular milestone that year with a grand cruise, setting a very high benchmark for the celebrations that followed.
- 2025 - Last year, we flew to Barcelona for a one week Mediterranean cruise on the MSC Orchestra.
- 2024 - Jay and I did a quick, 4-night stay in Las Vegas at the Excalibur. We packed in a few shows and had our first visit inside the Sphere.
- 2023 - This was our first return to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in years. We stayed full-board at Playa Los Archos Hotel in the Romantic Zone
- 2022 - We had a trip up the Inside Passage on the MS Zuiderdam and revisited our familiar Alaskan ports.
- 2021 - On Jay's birthday, this eJournal has a picture of a COVID-19 BC Vaccination card on a mobile phone.
- 2020 - The eJournal shows we were home having some wainscoting installed.
- 2019 - On a one-week cruise from Boston, MA to Montreal, QC. It took place without eJournal documentation. Jay's birthday writings never made it online.
- 2018 - We left for Cuba a few day's after Jay's birthday. We stayed at classic 'Hotel Altantico' just a half hour outside of Havana.
- 2017 - Our first big trip after Jay's bypass operation! It was a 24-night Mediterranean and Adriatic cruise aboard the ms Westerdam.
