Day 11 - The carpet in the elevators indicate that today is Tuesday again, so we've been onboard for more than a week. Today, I awoke to the announcement that we were set for disembarkation but Jay had already taken a shower. We parked right alongside the pier by the gate to the Old City of Kotor, Montenegro. The Royal Princess was also in port today, but it had to use 'tender'.

What a delightful, small fortified city! For some reason, even with the two cruise ships in town, walking around the narrow streets did not seem crowded. For the second time, we forwent climbing around the top of the walls and did NOT climb up to either the church or the fort a the top of the mountain. Yet, exploring a new small medieval city is a fun task. We figured out why Kotor is known for cats as we ran into a number, each seemingly contented and obtuse.

The ship started to sail out through the numerous bays at about 6:00 pm. We watched from Deck 10 at the front of the ship as it slowly passed the famous church and monastery islands. A legend maintains that ships brought in rocks at each passing so there was enough of an artificial island to construct the church.

I've not mentioned much about the evening entertainment on board the MS Westerdam. As we have 8:15 pm dinner reservations, we always go to the ten o'clock shows. Tonight is a Tina Turner tribute singer. Over the past week, we've seen an Italian magician, a local Croatian village folk singers, and dancers, even our ship staff put on an Indonesian song and dance program.
