Here's a new one for me: One of our gulls from the nextdoor roof top is eating a dead pigeon.

It just seemed unusual. In fact, I really have wondered to myself why one seldom sees dead pigeons. Considering their large numbers, one might assume coming across this particular type of carrion would be more frequent. Obviously this one had seen better days. I don't know how this particular bird met its death. I was wondering if the seagull carried it up to the rooftop of the Met Hotel. I have seen parenting gulls bring back whole, newly-caught fish for their offspring. So, it is possible.
Perhaps weirder than simply the declaration, is the fact I grabbed my zoom camera to document it, too.
