Of course, I was pleased with the fine weather this morning. That was not much of a surprise but it is the weekend with the resulting change in many others' schedules. We walked first to the water, stopping by Lázaro Cárdenas Park. Saturday is when the Old Town Farmers Market is held in that public space. We go not so much for any product, but as it's an easy location to pick up the two, weekly tourist newspapers. Actually, I'm at the point where I find the hordes of self righteous, pushy gringos more than a bit annoying.
From the water we walked up Francisco Madero Street towards the other end of the Old Town. We went to the Emiliano Zapata's Mercado Municipal. We got a whole lot of fruit and vegetables. So, although I was pleased with today's fine temperatures, I was even happier that mango season is starting.
These mango types were already on sale today: Manililla, Manila, Heiden, Atulfo, Melocoton, and Tomy.
