I posted this picture this morning as I was walking to the NE 1 Building on the Burnaby Campus of BCIT. What a day for class! Half of my group gave their term's oral presentations. I requested that my students choose a business in the Metro-Vancouver area. They had find an employee for a short series of face-to-face questions. They then divided the information into a number of sections for a 12-minute talk using PowerPoint. As always, I learned many new things while having a chance to hear each student's uninterrupted speech.
So, it wasn't too hard being in class all morning, even on such a spectacular day. I did notice the tree in the photo above had unusual, long bean-shaped pods hanging from most every branch. There were hundreds and hundreds. I picked one to bring home for identification. A Google search suggested that the tree may be a type of catalpa, but I can't say for sure. Do you know your trees?
