Half of my students gave their 12-minute presentations today. It is always a pleasure to be able to hear what they've put together. When I teach this level, I insist that they choose a local-area business and investigate it. They must choose to explain the business through a topic which relates to their future program or career interest. Moreover, interviewing a person is mandatory during this process. Lastly, the resulting speech must be given in conjunction with a PowerPoint presentation.
The remainder of the students will give their presentations on Friday.
It is always enjoyable listening to sustained talks as I get so few chances during their normal group work. More importantly, I never fail to learn new things from my students. What a way to earn a living!
