I think this is especially true for those in education, but apparently that might not be the norm. Surely this age problem is going to come back to bite institutions of learning. Many times the students come into class far ahead of the teacher in use of basic social networking tools. Society is rushing forward into new territory but the set-up and activities of many classrooms harken back to days of the industrial revolution. It's a shame really. Academia is set up to reward those who follow the old pathways. Why it is professionally advantageous to sit for a graduate lecture in theory rather than participate in the forces shaping tomorrow's world, is beyond my comprehension.
