Twitter can be used in numerous ways. I find it particularly helpful trying to get a running commentary on an event as it happens. For example, people use it to comment during sports or other types of live events. It, of course, can also be used to keep abreast of changing information. I use it this way in order to keep up on the current situations with our transit system in Vancouver.

I find #firstworldpains an interesting hashtag. (Click it. Every time you refresh the screen, there will be dozens more.) Generally I think it's a way of venting frustration. Yet it also causes many to realize that a lot of the things that are irking us, actually prove we're pretty lucky! We have so much to be thankful for. Reading through some of the tongue-in-cheek comments reassures me that although modern life has its annoyances, they pale in comparison to those who are less fortunate.
