This long weekend has seen some spectacular weather. We were sun-deprived for much of 2011, but beginning the final week of last month, it began to shine. When the weather is nice here it's more than nice. It feels utterly fantastic with the bluest blues and the greenest of greens. When it's like this, it sort of takes my breath away. I find myself thanking the Almighty I chose this place as home.
In the photo, we paid a small tribute to the end of summer by heading to Queen's Park and saying goodbye to all farm creatures who've been spending their summer at the petting zoo. The Rainbow Playland is a nice little tradition that continues in New Westminster, BC. As long as we started with an irony, here's a final one for today: I live in the center of the Metro-Vancouver region but for the past three months there have been more goats nearer to my home than where I grew up in rural New Hampshire.
