After 50 miles or so, we took the exit for Cultus Lake, We'd been there but after crossing the river, we turned towards Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park. It's about 25 miles away from that point towards the edge of higher mountains. The road runs parallel to the US border. Yet the lake itself is 10 kilometers long and runs north/south. The US border is not far from the south end of the lake. The North Cascades National Park is on the United State side of the imaginary line.
The BC Provincial camping area itself seemed rather neglected and unfinished. Many people were there with boats they'd towed up for the day. Still, it was a nice day. Driving up the Chilliwack River allowed us to see some kayaking courses and a lot of people fishing. When coming back, we were right in Chilliwack at lunch time and stopped at a Mandarin Chinese Buffet. I ate too much, but then that is not an uncommon occurrence. It was nice to be out on the highway on such a perfect day.
