I love trying to breath new life into pieces of very old, scratched, and fading paper. I found this today in a subdirectory on my backup drive. My sister must have scanned it at one point as it was in a sub-folder with her name. I tried to get rid of a few imperfections but there are limits to what can be done with some images. Here my sister and I are with my great aunt Olive. It's obviously Christmas time because there's a tree behind us. I'm guessing it must have been around 1969. My aunt (actually my grandmother's sister) and uncle lived in Massachusetts when we were little. Her husband was named George and I belive I remember hearing that they had met and fallen in love while residing in a TB sanatorium. I do know that they permanently moved to Florida when we were quite young too.
I expect to eventually spend some time with my own scanner, for my dad has sent several packages of old junk to the home of friends in Washington state. He said there was far too much paperwork and expense trying to mail a package to Canada from the US nowadays. You know the US has made the border much thicker than it used to be. Unfortunately.
