It does seem as if I've had my face in MLS listings nearly all this winter. First, I was trying to figure out the Puerto Vallarta, Mexico real-estate market. Then, I kept looking at Phoenix, AZ because of the remarkable deals but eventually decided that is not a place which is really me. Finally, the most recent research is going into Palm Springs. In many ways that California city makes a lot of sense. There is a small price premium over other desert southwest markets. Yet, it is accessible by cheap air and could be a comfortable three-day road trip. A migration south starting in November and a return trip in late March sounds about right.
If I'm going to be ready to retire at 55, I just figure I better get to the planning of a winter retreat.
