During part of the class, we were working on some of the review activities for classification. In one part, students needed to choose a principle of classification and tell the corresponding categories. For example, BCIT could be classed by campus. That means the students would have to write: Burnaby, Downtown, Marine, Aerospace Technology, and the Great Northern Way.
One of the terms was simply food. Of course, I suggested that healthy and junk foods might not the the optimum way of trying to divide this topic. I was a bit surprised how little some of my students knew about nutrition. Luckily, I was in classroom with an LCD projector, so I went to the web and found a pdf copy of Canada's Food Guide. The students were quite satisfied with the way Health Canada classified food. To download and view the pdf document, simply click on the title or image.
