It is technically the winter season here, as we are 7.1842° above the equator. In January, nights cool off pretty well. Now that it is 5 o'clock in the afternoon the temperature has fallen to 30°C. It is expect to drop another 8°C overnight.
We are also lucky to manage naps during the hottest hours of the day.
I spent a bit of time on the travel laptop today. We left an old 17" laptop at home. It hardly ever moves from the dining table, unless we have company over to eat. I looked to see when we got it. Apparently, we got it in the spring of 2014. It travelled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Luxor, Egypt during our initial winters of early retirement. It has served its purpose and I was ready to move on when we get back to Canada in the spring.
Then, it dawned on me. I can pick up a new laptop while we're in Kuala Lumpur. Like most SE Asian cities, they have a lust for electronics hardware. So, today I was checking the online sites to see what will be available as soon as we get there in February. That way, I'll have a couple of months to play with it. After that, it'll just become part of our luggage and be prepped for arrival in New Westminster at the beginning of April.
Seeing how I have enough time, I'm approaching the purchase like a real job. I'm in the middle of creating a spreadsheet of all different models which meet our needs. This way when I enter the Low Yat Plaza, I'll be primed and prepared for a little bargaining.
Look out credit card, I want a machine, such as: an Acer Predator Helios 300 PH317-53-79LT-32-1-W10 17.3" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-9750H, 32GB, 512GB, 1TB, NV RTX2060, W10H).
