Day 2 - It was a little dark in the morning. I did go to bed at about 8:45 last night. By the time Jay got out of the shower, I was already asleep. Then, we didn't get up for the buffet breakfast in our hotel until on towards 9:00 am.
We headed out and the city of Venice was pretty crowded for a Tuesday.
We've been in this city only twice since 2008. So, this was our third time walking the streets in search of St. Mark's Square. I guarantee it's physically impossible to walk there without going down at least a half dozen paths that don't lead toward the famous square.
By the time we got there, the dark clouds had started to rain. It was a persistent rain.

Interestingly, earlier in this month, we were in Vegas and saw the fake St Mark's Bell Tower. Today's was considerably taller and wetter. We returned to our part of the city via a public ferry on the Grand Canal. After little rest in the afternoon, we headed back out.
We picked up train tickets to Trieste tomorrow. They cost a bit more than €16 but the trip takes a tad more than two hours. We returned to our area for another dinner. Our restaurant yesterdays was Gino's and has been there since 1972. Today, we had to go to another and it was closed. We had the tourist, 2-plate choice, plus fries or salad for €13 without drinks. I had a beer from Sardinia.

It's already 10:00 pm and I'm not sleeping! This is different than last night!
