Day 1 - Our flight from Vancouver to Zurich was without hitch. It was about nine and half hours and I may have slept for a total of fifteen minutes! Our second short hope from Zurich to Venice didn't go as smoothly. We boarded our Swiss Air flight early and thought we might get off early as we loaded quickly. Unfortunately, a thundershower kept us in the plane at the gate for a long time. By the time we flew away we'd been waiting for more than an hour and a half. The flight was only 45 minutes.
Getting from Marco Polo to downtown was easy by a bus. It dropped us off at Roma Plaza and we easily walked about 800 meters to our hotel.
We did a fair amount of walking. We're not far from the train station will come in handy on Wednesday as we continue to the city of Treiste, Italy.
I enjoyed my pizza and very large beer. Jay had two plates and salad and he liked it.
Jay is doing well. I'm so tired I can hardly walk. It is going to be a very early evening tonght. I anticipate being asleep before nine.
