Day 7 - I stayed around home today. Actually, I have done so since we arrived. I love going into town though, so maybe Jay and I will go to the beer shop tomorrow. I wonder if the town has changed much since our last visit in 2021-22?
Jay and his elder sister visited a travel agent near the airport. They went in a rideshare car and ended up returning with the same driver. They're ready to look into our proposed second trip for this winter. We are looking into some time in SE Asia. The agent with whom they'd been in contact was pretty useless and didn't really seem to know what he was doing. I guess Jay will give 2nd Chance Travel a second chance though. The siblings came away empty-handed but with information that it'd be best to get visas after the new year.
Closer to now, we have Dubai to get ready for. In fact, this afternoon I did download the MSC Cruise Ship app as we couldn't seem to finish the check-in photograph on our laptop. It is less than a month away and online check-in was available from yesterday. We are all set for the mini 3-night cruise from Abu Dhabi to Dubai via Bani Yas Island. We go to Dubai as a group of four in less than three weeks. The cruise is one event during our stay. A year and a half ago, it was fun to show Jay's sisters the city that Jay and I worked in so long ago! Dubai is certainly not the place it was in the mid-1990s though.
We plan to get back here during the second week in December and will be staying in Sri Lanka for a couple of months before any other international travel.
