Key FOB Battery

My friends are such smart people that I sometimes ask them questions rather than doing an Internet search. For example, just last week I wrote this on Facebook: 

Just how long does the battery in a keyless car fob last?

 

I asked because I realized my battery had never been changed in over four years.

   

Jay carries our extra key in his pocket when we're going somewhere.  Exactly one day after I wrote that question, his FOB stopped working.  Although mine's still going strong, I shall not wait until it dies.  I only had one #2032 battery though.
