Day 17 - Greetings from Chile! This morning we pulled into the port of Coquimbo. We didn't take any shore excursions that most likely would've taken us to the sunshine. Lots of grapes are grown in vineyards in the valleys between desert sands. Our day was short and the Oosterdam left at 4:00 pm this afternoon.
We walked around the town itself and also didn't take a trip to the nearby coastal towns with lots of condos and crowds.
Jay and I simply walked the city right around our ship. The weather was a bit gray in the morning and cooler but humid.
Tomorrow, we arrive at a port closest to the country's capital. About 1000 of the passengers of the ship will be leaving to go home. Like us, around 800 will be going around Cape Horn and ending in Buenos Aires. This is late spring in this part of the world and our ship will be going back and forth between Santiago and BA for the whole summer. We do not know how many new passengers will join us tomorrow!
