Day 0 - We're in the hotel in Miami. Getting here was quite a journey. We travel a lot and I forget just how much work it is each time. Our WestJet flight from Vancouver left at 10:25 pm but due to the time zones arrived at 6:30 AM. The flight was only four hours and thirty-eight minutes though.
We had plenty of time to kill as our flight to Florida didn't leave until 11:00 am this morning. We left a bit late but arrived less late.
We grabbed an Uber to the Wyndham Garden Miami International Airport Hotel. We could have played around with a bus or train and shuttle to this airport then a free shuttle, but an Uber sounded easier. Little did we know that I95 south would be like a parking lot for specific stretches. It's okay because we got to talk a lot with the driver, a Cuban who came by boat and risked his life a few years back. We checked in after 5:00 pm.
We got to the hotel which is much closer to Miami Port. Our HAL ship was originally scheduled to leave from Ft. Lauderdale but this weekend it was too packed to accommodate more ships. Our original hotel booking went out of business, so Priceline upgraded us. This hotel is new and full of high tech, so much so. nothing can be figured out without an instruction manual.
We should be exhausted because we didn't sleep for a total of an hour last night. However, we had a McDonald's meal a bit ago. It'd been more than a decade since I ate a Big Mac. They taste the same just cost twice as much nowadays.
Bed is probably soon.
