It really is time to run away. When we leave during winter, I always leave my car with an 80-85% charge. Usually, over five months, it loses 1 to 2%. This is because the small, regular-type car battery is automatically kept full from the large EV battery pack.
Tomorrow, I'll top up to that much after we pick up COVID tests and complete a few errands. It will take a little longer than usual because the mornings are near freezing and I am not turning on its battery-charging preheating.
Today we stopped to get up from 60% to 75% while taking a short walk in Queen's park. It was 2°C and I saw an unseen dashboard indicator suggesting the roads could be icy. We walked to the Rose Garden and back but it was too cool to be comfortable. We just jumped inside during the last few minutes to try to get warm.
How do people put up with these temperatures? I'm glad our flights take us south tomorrow evening!
