I have to admit, I didn't mind that the day was dark.
We stayed in our cozy apartment and finished chores like putting the luggage away and putting everything in its place. I've been relearning all the familiar habits of our own place. For example, people who wear eyeglasses use muscle memory for a place to set them when using a mirror. When we are away on extended winters, I sometimes have to ask Jay to come and help me find the place I've set my glasses. There's an irony there. I've also found that when away for an extended period from home, I must relearn all these automatic routines and customs.
We live many lives because of our travels.
