Day 10 - We realized that we were heading out in the mornings and sightseeing when it was the hottest. The evenings are perfect for walking and many people use them to do errands too.
As it was Friday, the only day that some workers get off, lots of folks were out tonight. We headed to Diera again after the sun had set. We went to the Metro Station called the Gold Souk but it really isn't close. I'm sure it was called a different name when we were on a stopover here in 2015. I'm sure because we used it as the jumping-off spot for our hotel in that section of the old city.
We did want to walk through the Gold Souk again as it seems a bit more magical at night. All the gold sparkles more under artificial lights.
It wouldn't be a trip to Deira without some time next to the creek. It appears as if all the working dhows, from Iran and other points, now have a special wharf closer to the Clock Tower Roundabout and no longer use this side of the creek for packing and unpacking. The breeze blowing down the creek was very pleasant.
We walked to Al Baniyas Square to the Metro Station to return back to our neighbourhood.
