What the Hell is Taupe?

The old, brown curtains in the bedroom were pretty good at keeping out any light that the blinds couldn't. However, they'd been hanging for so long that the sun had discoloured their edges. The faded brown didn't look very nice. So, Amazon dropped off some new, 100%-darkening replacements right to our door.



I had ordered them in taupe without really understanding what that meant. After putting them up this morning, I've realized taupe means faded brown. Things look pretty much exactly the same. Hum.
