Day 53 - Now that we've accomplished most of the local errands we had set, we've decided to head back to the Minuwangoda house tomorrow. Today was open. We decided to visit The Urban Wetland Park on the other side of Nugegoda. It is said the area was formerly a gravel and sand storage location. On one of our visits many years ago, we saw the area was being re-purposed to parkland.

We took a PickMe vehicle because the larger vehicles are an easy way for four people to travel, even if travelling less than three kilometers. The driver had a brand new Suzuki Hybrid WagonR. If I were in the market for a vehicle here, this little van is exactly what I'd buy.

The park wasn't really crowded as it was a bit before noon. Mostly, we saw college-aged couples hanging around in the quiet, relatively-unsupervised location. The walkway cut through the canal and extensive waterways in that area. I really need to explore more of that part of the Colombo area.
The sisters left us to go shopping. Jay and I walked a half-mile to an HSBC to use an ATM. We took a tuk-tuk back to the house, stopping at the local Cargill's so I could buy some beer.
