Happy Solstice!

Day 52 - Today, we are sitting at a latitude of around 6.85° North. This means the winter solstice occurred at 9:49 AM in Nugegoda, Sri Lanka.  Even though this is the shortest day of the year,  the hours of daylight don't change a whole heck of a lot here.  Today:

sunrise - 6:17 am 

sunset - 6:00 pm

I do feel I somehow got rooked out of 17 minutes of the day that I deserved.  I guess only people exactly on the equator can have a twelve-hour day on the 22nd of December this year.
