Day 51 - Who doesn't need to do a little last-minute Christmas shopping? (Raising hand) Me. Oh, that's not because I'm super-efficient. It is because we give each other the things we want year round and therefore have no reason to wrap special gift boxes at this time of year!
It was a nice chance to see the grounds at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall. Although the building's been there since the 1970s, I never really had a chance to get up close. Today, the newer main exhibition hall was filled with sellers and potential buyers.
We used the PickMe app and ordered a driver with a small Flexi vehicle as there were four of us. Jay's sisters, Jay and I went for a few hours and wandered around. They bought a few practical things such as the purifier kit for the water dispenser and a few items for the kitchen. There were a lot of clothes but none of us were interested.

The best part, for me, was what we picked up before heading home. It was late and the caterers were from the Mt. Lavinia Hotel. It's a very famous, colonial-era heritage hotel. We took some meals to go. Jay and I had the Dutch-era inspired lamprais and Jay's sisters had fish rice and curry. Both types of meals included everything expected and lived up to the standards of the famous name on the boxes.
