We are having another BC Long Weekend and had another Vancouver Pride Parade!
As is now a tradition, Jay and I went on the SkyTrain to Burrard station before the noon parade kicked off. We like walking through the staging area and watching all the preparation and set up. By the time we leisurely walked down towards the end of Denman Street, the parade had nearly started.

Wow. It was long this year with very few gaps. In fact, we had to pick up a couple of shwarmas before it ended. We followed the parade but chose to head down the beach as soon as we got to Beach Road. It was tremendous weather and the high-pressure system seems locked in for a while.

We sat and watched the area where the booths are set up at Sunset Beach ... for a very long time. Jiwan joined us and as soon as Tim was done at his church booth at around 5:45, we headed up to St. Paul's and then toward the community gardens. The Richmond guys arrived. We walked to have dinner out, deciding on kabsa at a mid-level restaurant serving Saudi Arabian food on Denman. Due to a mix-up, my order arrived after everyone else's; however, it was delicious once I got it!

It was pleasant at the waterfront in the evening. These are the evenings to die for when in Vancouver with a temperature of nearly 20C after the sun had set. Jay and I eventually got home at around 10:00 PM. What a nice, long day in a magnificent city!
