Day 35 - The renewal of my Flickr Pro membership, has coincided with a renewed interest in using the photosharing site. Or perhaps there's a bit of cause and effect there! Honestly, the site languished when it was under control of Yahoo Inc. It became a sort of photo storage site rather than its original mandate of being 'a community of photographers'.
I've been using Bali as a springboard to get back into images as more than a mere documentation of events. I have been spending more time editing before uploading. Of course, this leads to some experimentation and vain attempts at haughtiness. However, more importantly, I've been averaging 10 new photographs per day.
The increased input has made it easier to attract new Flickr contacts. In fact, I went through the list of those I'd been following and 'defriended' anyone who had not uploaded an image for more than two months. (Warning, Tim Conklin, you're over the threshold.) I needed some new blood.
I've noticed an enormous uptake in views because of these recent changes. Of course, a few of my 25,700 pictures have been sitting on Flickr servers for thirteen years. I'd expect a lot of views, even if by accident, over that amount of time.
Still, I impressed myself with the figure of 3.1 million. That seems like a lot of views.

(My Flickr stream is just one way to access my images. It is a simple display of images in reverse chronological order. This means that you can easily scan to see ALL the photos I've taken in Bali during the last month.)
