Day 15 - I've been actively pursuing the social aspects of the Flickr site since being in Bali. Getting a more up-to-date list of fellow photographers has been interesting. There are so many ways to create memorable images. I can spend hours being inspired.
I do come across many members who shoot extensively in black and white. That seems hubristic and a silly attempt at being artsy. I appreciate B&W photography, especially from a period in which that was the main technological option. Lots can be said with light and darkness. However, colour too can show subtle meanings.
I, myself, have not felt subtle lately. Over the past few days, I've been in an all-out, totally-saturated mood. Sometimes this happens; I've seen it crop up in my photos in the past. If a little colour is good then gobs will be better, right? It may take a week or so, but I generally get over it.
