Day 47 - The cold snap of weather in the mid-20's celsius kept the skies overcast today. We had no plans for today but decided to try an UBER ride as a test before tomorrow morning's trip to the airport. We successfully used the ride-share service in December but on the last few tries, the site was having trouble making any transaction with my Visa credit card. That is so much more convenient than spending our small bills.
Well, we still had no luck, even after repeated requests for help from the company. Therefore, I chose cash, as that is an option for payment. We were able to see how that works by taking a ride to the Snake Temple. The ride was not far as this famous Penang landmark is near the airport.

We had a nice ride with a Chinese guy who grew up in George Town. He was helpful and friendly. We got out at the temple which was built about 1850 in memory of Chor Soo Kong (祖師公), by a Buddhist monk. As well as the vipers sleepy by the incense, the back area has many in trees in a 'breeding area' of their gardens.

After we'd seen the site we walked out to the bus stop on the road. It was only a few minutes until a bus headed for the Kompleks Bukit Jambul hub arrived. We went in the shopping center for a bit just to mingle with the Sunday crowds.
