Day 09 - We heard the message announcing that we were docked and passengers could disembark from this ship. We were still in bed at 8:00 am. We were at the port relatively close to downtown Corfu. We waited for a free shuttle to take us to the port building. Then, we walked out past the taxis and tourist buses, to the public bus stop. It cost €1.70 each way.

People might expect white washed building on a Greek Island, however, this port had more Venician, and British history and this was reflected in the buildings. The Old Town lies between the New and Old Forts. It has picturesque narrow streets and more shops and restaurants than our ship and a Costa cruise ship could fill.

Life onboard continues with our 8:15 reservations for dinner. We sit with two recent widows from New Zealand. Although most cruises now default to 'anytime' dining, we always ask for a 'set' reservation at a large table. From nearly every cruise we've ever taken we remember some of the people because of our habit.
