This was the stop for Berlin and this port was marked as its 'gateway'. However, the capital was a three hour train ride one way. Six hours on a train seemed a bit excessive for our 7 AM to 9 PM visit. Perhaps we can plan a future trip to see some of Germany and Poland by land. We decided to simply visit the close city of Rostock today. A train from our port town of Warnemünde whisked us to the city in around 25 minutes.
We walked a lot in the relatively warm sun. The temperature was about 25C today and almost a little too warm! So, after returning to the ship for lunch and a dip, we walked around the port. Warnemünde has been a seaside vacation spot for years. It was cute and attractive.
It was a very pleasant day. Sun doesn't set here until around 9:30 PM. We are now on our way to Estonia!
