Saturday: Boom! Through the magic of night navigation, we’re parked aside an ancient fort in Norway. The picture above was from our stateroom balcony while docked. We looked up information about our first port and decided to explore the city on our own. After all, we were docked about a kilometer from the central city.
We walked up the hill and over to the main area right after breakfast at around 9:30 am. This was the first of two walks in the city. We travelled the pedestrian road between the train station and the palace.
What a lovely day! The temperature was not too hot but my face and arms are a bit red.
Later in the day, after lunch and a nap, we walked to the brand new Opera House. It is an amazing structure with an angled walking surface as large as a small mountain. So many folks were walking to and fro for a rock concert in the harbour area.
I could definitely imagine calling Oslo home. Our ship sailed at 11:00 pm but it is not yet dark.
