We woke up quite refreshed considering all the sleep we'd had in the preceding day. We didn't make it to breakfast until about 8:00 AM and then walked around one last tour of the resort before checking out. Staying in this type of smaller place reminded me of a few summers at a local lodge where I grew up. This place even had what was called an 'animation team'. They were responsible for basically planning events to keep the guests happy. This might be leading a yoga class, putting on evening talent shows, or keeping the kids busy with special activities. In fact, all the staff seemed genuinely friendly and happy to be working at the MinaMark Resort.
After checking out, we walked to the road and argued with a taxi about the price to get to the Go Bus terminal. We settled on EP15 after starting out at EP30. If we'd been more persistent, we may have ended up at EP10. Getting on board the bus was very easy and it left right on time as well.
This bus got back to Luxor a bit more quickly than the trip down. We must have got to the train station area about 2:00 PM. Deciding it would still take a while to get back to the West Bank, we chose to have lunch at our favourite restaurant in town.
It was nearly 4:00 PM by the time we turned the key to open our gate at Villa Diletta. It was a nice feeling to get 'home'.
