Cruising These Waters - Day 39

We just walked to town on the East Bank this evening and noticed a few more cruise ships parked on the opposite side. I expect that the Christmas holidays may be a peak season for visitors plying the Nile.

I have to admit, one of the reasons, I was keen on coming to Upper Egypt in the first place, was to cross the term, Nile Cruise off my bucket list. We did that in the spring of 2014 and it provided us with our very first glimpse of Luxor from our cabin on the MS Miss Esadora.

There used to be hundreds operating but many are now mothballed due to the lack of tourists visiting Egypt. What a shame! Here are a few working ships in the photos I've taken since we arrived for the winter.





It'd almost be worth it to inquire about the cost for several nights to go between here and Aswan this winter. I liked it that much! Of course most passengers fly in to Luxor and do their complete vacation on a round-trip excursion between these cities.
