I spent more quality hours learning about Linux by playing with Lubuntu on my netbook. It could be the first blush of something new, but I'm very pleased with new-found usefulness of that device. It now handles media files with much more aplomb in the simplier OS. I continue to find learning technology through hands-on experience tremendously gratifying.
I have an unlimited and ever-growing list of things I want to learn and experience. I have much more time to pursue them now that I've no work obligations. This will have to be my answer to those folks who wondered what I was going to do when I stopped working. We were not off on any wild adventures today. We didn't have a list of fun or exciting things to do. I ran just one errand by driving up town at around noon. Otherwise, we spent time in each other's company around our apartment. Yet, this is exactly how I hoped I'd feel by grabbing an early retirement. The day was completely ours and we were able to choose do whatever we wanted to do.
I feel amazingly lucky to be living in my present situation.
