I'm not generally excited enough by an Android app to blog about it. Yet, I think that Redy Movies fills a perfect niche. The app has only been available in its first version for a few weeks, but I'm glad I stumbled upon it. The following paragraphs are in the review I wrote for the Google Play Store:
Perfect for My Minix NEO X8-H - I wanted to find an easier and more effective way of selecting from the mp4 collection of movies and shows on my living room television. Using a file manage is not a very intuitive method for opening a file on my streaming box.
I am happy I found Redy Movies as a "front end" for MX Player (or any selected Android video player). The program scans directories to try to find the correct information from outside sites. Even if it does not find a match on its own, the software makes it easy to type in a search. Once found, it displays a perfect, large icon for that movie or show. One can click to start it playing. It's also possible to select to get a brief plot summary.
The developer is very responsive and I really feel that this app is going to continue to get better and better. Even at version 1.0, Redy Movies is exactly what I was searching for.
